Welcome to my corner of the web. You've stumbled into my blog, where I
post my mostly-coherent thoughts about random things as well as those
things that spark my interest and causes I support. I'll do my best to
stay on topic, but that's not a guarantee, lol.
This is a Memex , a
personally-curated wiki/blog/knowledgebase.
Mostly because I can, and I need an outlet for my ideas
while avoiding the bigger social media sites. A better web,
in my own personal pipe dream, would be a combination
RSS
,
BBS
and
ActivityPub
network, backed by email-based
workflows. Fat chance of that happening, though.
This blog is currently written in Markdown within Emacs, though I am
currently working on building my own text editor. That is the reason
why I haven't used
org-mode
even though it would be ideal for
this sort of use-case. The benefits of using markdown is simply that
its more portable, unlike org-mode which requires the 100-ton gorrilla
that is
Emacs
.
The site is rendered, formerly using Hugo the
100r build system
,
but now using my own
static site generator
on 8-year old hardware (bought secondhand).
