The Demiurge
Perhaps a central thesis in Gnostic Christian teachings is that the creator of the world is different from the All-Knowing, All-Powerful and All-Present God, Tao, etc that people from Abrahamic religions normally associate with the term. That not only is it imperfect, that it is blinded and stuck in its own delusion that itself IS the omnipotent God. That it is sometimes described as an actively evil and oppressive force.
The Coptic Magical Papyri (CMP) refers to the Old Testament God as the “One who presides over the mountain of the murderer”
The CMP very likely has Gnostic influences and uses the alternative narrative where God let Abraham sacrifice his own son, instead of stopping him as per the narrative handed down in Genesis.
