The Spectacle
The spectacle is not a collection of images; it is a social relation between people that is mediated by images. ~
Human interaction mediated by market logics and commodity fetishism . Turn every human interaction into a transaction, and transactions become the only way to interact with other human beings. From another angle, The Spectacle is also when human interactions are mediated and filtered through our preconceived notions of each other, an "image" of what a person should be based on their gender, sexuality, skin color and culture . This forces people into these roles to better fit the existing order, and objectifies them, in other words, people become objects while objects gain a life of their own.
Either way, this type of interpersonal relations leads to the reproduction of the current Capitalist economic system and the various prejudices that contribute and intersect with private ownership. Thought patterns that reproduce economic and social systems of predation and oppression.
Artificial Intelligence may become the reification of the Spectacle.
